The history
Our small project arose with the idea of making wine in Alberite (Rioja Oriental), a municipality in the Iregua Valley where people have traditionally dedicated themselves to viticulture but not to making their own wines. If only for family consumption. In 2018 we wanted to change that and produced just 400 bottles of our wine Víctor Ausejo Garnacha Blanca in a determined commitment to get away from the ubiquitous Tempranillo and value the area, its vineyards and minority varieties traditionally grown here.
Since then we have continued with this philosophy, expanding our range and producing red and white single varietals from traditional grapes that are scarce today in Rioja, with which we try to convey the identity of the Iregua Valley territory and our way of understanding wine.
“We seek to make wines with our own style that transmit the identity of our territory”
The grapes
TRADITIONAL, NATIVE AND MINORITY GRAPES
White Grenache
The hallmark of our project, the absolute protagonist of our white wines. Surprising, with enormous aging potential and great personality. And yet one of the varieties that occupies the least surface area in the D.O.Ca. Rioja.
3.96% OF HECTARES OF WHITE VARIETIES AND 0.36% OF THE TOTAL HECTARES IN RIOJA
Red Grenache
A variety that in 1973 occupied more surface area than Tempranillo in Rioja and today barely adds up to a minimum proportion of hectares of the red varieties. The freshness it offers in high areas like the ones we work in in the Moncalvillo area is really interesting.
7.5% OF THE TOTAL HECTARES OF RED VARIETIES IN RIOJA
Mazuelo
Historical variety with a very interesting acidity and a long ripening cycle. Traditionally used together with Tempranillo, it is a variety that gives rise to fascinating single varietals if it is well worked. A challenge that we face every harvest.

📍 Alberite (Eastern Rioja)
The vineyards we work with are located in a 10 km radius from the winery all located in the Iregua Valley area.
It is the place where wines are really made, taking care of the vines and working on viticulture to obtain the best in each vintage.
And we do it in a way sustainable, using organic fertilizer and avoiding the use of herbicides and systemic products.

MICROWINERY – WINE WORKSHOP
Our microwinery is located in Alberite in a garage that we have conditioned to be able to produce our limited edition wines in the best conditions.
It is a wine workshop. A space in which we work with the minimum possible intervention. For us it is essential that the wine reflects the peculiarities of the terrain and the variety as well as each vintage. Let each wine be a photograph of the origin, the landscape, the vineyards…
